01 A4 1.8T Quattro Manual won't start
I know it is a "big problem rite there". That's why I posted here hoping anyone had a problem like mine.
What is your solution?
The only other piece I would focus on is the Ignition Control Module (amplifier as some call it if you have one) - I believe on the 01's they are built into the coil Packs, if so, check the coil packs (I have seen them cause starting problems even with some spark). In my model year it was always the IGM since they were seperate in my year (replaced three already) and the coil packs themselves were bullet proof.

The throttle body does make noise when I first turn the ignition key "ON". Then the noise stops as usual. Honestly I haven't checked if the internals move, but I have logged block # 054 while pressing on the gas pedal to see if the throttle body responds. It sure does respond as normal. Yet when I try to go to block # 060 to do adaptation, the far right box (forgot what it's called) says "ERROR". When I try to start the car, it just cranks and cranks and doesn't fire. I know for a fact that the engine is fine and timing belt is perfectly fine.
You do bring up a good point about my coil packs. They are by no means new. I wish I could buy new ones or try them on another AWM engine that is in running condition.
