Because AoA hasn't released the info.
It's not your dealers fault, trust me, AoA hasn't released the info yet. But I'll be attending a Audi press preview for the 2000 models in less than 2 weeks and I fully expect to get MSRP prices at that time. The prices will then be posted on this site as soon as possible.
On a similar note, Audi didn't release prices for the '99 models until mid-September last year.

i just spoke with AoA yesterday, and they said the msrp on the my 2000 was not yet available, but that they were not anticipating any price increase. they did confirm, however, that the in dash cd player would be standard. seeing as i just ordered one yesterday, i'd love to know the exact price ASAP.

I ordered mine at the end of June and it is on the production schedule for this month. That means that it will probably be built and on its way here and i will have no idea how much it will cost me. I just agreed to a set amount over invoice. I can't wait for Matt's report. Keep us posted.

Re: Waiting anxiously as well - silver '00 1.8TQMS - Any one else waiting?
I ordered a Y2K laser red 2.8 with everything but tiptronic and the cell phone on June 29th. Actually the wait is easier than I thought because I rarely see any reds (mostly silvers). Plus, ordering something that you don't know all the specs, price, etc. is a little unreal, too! I haven't heard anything from my dealer about build date yet.
