2000 A4 Question

2000 A4 Question
Hey Everyone,
Qot a question that I have been thinking about for the past few days now. Now when people come on here askin for what A4 years they should buy people generally say 99.5 because it has almost all the interior changes and its still N-DBW, or 2001 because it was the last of the B5 and has the VVT an such for 170HP. So I think I read somewhere though that the 2000 model A4's dont have the VVT stuff but they are more than 150HP. So are 2000 like the fluke year of the A4? I also read somewhere that they're kind of rare and sometimes are hard to get a chip for or something like that, I dunno I'm probably wrong, just thought I'd ask. Thanks Everyone

Some time ago, there were several people on this board
who I feel "wanted" to believe their car was putting out more than stock 150hp with stories like "I tried my friend's 2001 and it felt just like mine! So I think Audi is putting out 170hp engines and not telling us for marketing purposes." But no one ever did a dyno test to prove it. It didn't help matters when someone else piped in that German car companies are usually conservative about their HP numbers. That might be true, but I don't think Audi would fudge 20hp. As far as tough to get a chip for, I had no problem getting mine.
