2001 pricing

Anyone have any info on this? I recieved a quote from one dealer for a 2001 1.8T manual with only sports package (she said xenons weren't offered for 2001, she's wrong) for $27015. She said that the MSRP was $27500. If that is true, that is about a $3000 price increase since 2000. That doesn't make any sense. I haven't had a chance to call her yet to find out why it's so high.

I've been quoted $27,419 for 2001 A4 1.8T Q. manual w/ sport pkg/conven pkg/Bose sys. This was their first offer before any haggling. This was today.

2000 pricing wasn't released until the early Sept timeframe if I remember correctly

Where are estimates coming from? Pricing not yet released!

Instead, negotiate for a percentage or dollar amount over invoice.

That's actually what I asked for. She gave me numbers. But with those, it might as well been percentage over MSRP. That's just nuts.

I think my dealer quoted me with an implied base invoice price equal to 2000 model. She didn't guarantee me that the invoice price will be identical to the 2000s. However, if pior years are good indications, sequential price increase SHOULD be minimal. I guess the bottom line is to lock in the price over the invoice, whatever that is.

I am in the process of ordering a 2001 avant and I was told by my dealer that he had been told "about 3% to 5% over 2000, leaning more towards %5" so I am looking at percentage over as well..
