2002 A4 which engine

I'm trying to figure which 2002 A4 engine would be best for Colorado. I've been told to go turbo because at this altitude non-turbos feel like they have asthma plus I want the better gas milage. Any thoughts between 1.8T or 1.9 TDI ?

I don't think the U.S. market will be getting the 1.9 TDI engine.

We will get 2 engines (this is confirmed) 220hp 3.0 and 170hp 1.8T

The 1.8T (150hp) that was tested in the UK recently had the dual exhaust tips like the 3.0, I hope that makes it here :}

That simplifies it, do feel that's true about non-turbos at altitude?

I wonder if Audi will pull the same thing they did with the A4 in 96/97...

And only bring the automatic into the country for the first ~6 months and then start bringing the manual in later.

Yes, non-turbos are down on power at altitude.

Some times it's unacceptable, like when you're
stuck with an evil 4-cylinder rental car that
won't keep up with traffic on I70.

Some times it's a little anoying. I need more
room to pass in my A4 2.8QM as I go up in the
mountains, although 80-90 through Eisenhower
Tunnel and over Vail Pass isn't a problem.

Some times it's not really an issue. The built small block in my Land Cruiser should be good for over 350HP at sea level.
