2002 A4 moddability

I got into a discussion with my g/f and she said in a bout a year, maybe less, she'd gladly take over payments on my Saturn for me. So that made me decide to stick with the Saturn for now and investigate the 2002 A4's, maybe even the 2003's when the time comes This will let me get the exact car I want (as the 2 cars on the lots that were 1.8T's + Sport had some options I didn't and some I did).

As far as performance upgrades, not cosmetics, is 2001 stuff going to work in a 2002? The first I'd be looking to do was throw in a chip to start.

As far as adapting any 2001 performance upgrades that may not fit, how long do you guys thing it will take?

And finally, how soon could you expect to see 2002 cosmetic upgrades after the car hits the US?

Upgrades are already available...

Caracter and ABT already have bodykits available. You have to remember the A4 has been available in europe for months. The 1.8T is a carryover engine so the development time will not be very long. I don't believe the suspension parts will be interchangeable between the B5 platform. Since europe has the car already, there should be products for the A4 by the time it hits the NA market.

I can't wait for the new A4. There is supposed to be a huge improvement in driver involvement. Audi hired BMW's head of chassis dynamics to head the new platform.
