No display for U.S. market...
We won't be getting the full screen display like our European counterparts. The nav system in 2002 will be just like the current one... the controls will be in the center console, near the e-brake lever, and the information will be displayed on the trip computer screen with turn directions, but no map display. I also believe it is CD based, requiring different CD's for different regions of the U.S.
Why this is the case remains a mystery, as the European nav system has the full color display in the center dash complete with maps.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/695048.phtml">My earlier post on this topic</a></li></ul>

sucks.
I just test drove the Q45, Lexus LS430, and A8. I was helping my father in law make a decision. He eventually went A8, just like I told him, but he almost didn't because of the slick nav system in the LS430 and in the Q45. Q45 also had a great backup video camera, that played through the LCD when in reverse.
I convinced him by doing some spirited driving in all 3 cars, and the A8 was MUCH more controlled.
I gotta say that Lexus nav was nice. The aircooled seats were also nice.
