2nd level chip

2nd level chip
When I purchased my A4, I had the dealer install the first level chip which I was told would give me 190hp. I was also told that there was a 2nd level chip that would boost this to 250hp. Does anyone have experience with this, had this done at dealer or other shop, etc.?

I'm a complete novice. They installed it at the dealer and I wouldn't know where to look to find out the chip maker. Good to know that my dealer is feeding me bs.

i'd say you got a 0.8bar chip probibly nuespeed.the spec on this is 187hp iirc. there is a 1.0bar chip that gives 200 or so. and the X-chip is 1.5bar iirc for dbw only but none of these give 250hp.

they may not have their facts straight....
I'd ask them the brand they use.
And then go to that companies site for their performance figures.
To get an idea of what the various chips are, just hang out around here and look at people's signatures. You'll pick stuff up very quickly.
APR and GIAC are the family favs
but MTM is the long time prince
Best bet if you want to get more performance out of your A4 is to find a tuner or distributer near you and go chat with them. I would recommend however talking to local enthusiasts first, just so you arent at the mercy of a salesman.
