97 Overheating
I have a 1997 A4 1.8t and I was recently in an accident and the shop replaced my radiator and thermostat, among many other parts. I took the car on the highway about two days after receiving it and it overheated. I brought it back they checked replaced the thermostat again and checked the radiator. So far it has the same problem. the water pump is only 1 1/2 years old, and the shop wants to replace that, any advice?

The cooling system on a Audi requires bleeding when the coolant is replaced or drained. There is a procedure in the Bentley Manual to do this. It can take 2-3 tries to get the air out.
Make sure your viscous fan is engaging since you had an accident.

Couple things
Get the car nice and hot (not to the point of overheating, but maybe 1/2 way up the guage). Look into the coolant expansion tank and see if coolant is coming out of the top tube (the small one). Then feel the upper and lower radiator hoses and see if they are both equally hot.
I don't think it's a fan problem if it's doing this while on the highway. Get back to us and let us know.
