98 Audi A4 problem...
Hey guys, this is my first post on here, and I really need a solution. So I have a 98 Audi A4 2.8 V6 Quattro and I'm having an issue. This is the first time I had an issue with this maybe someone can help me out.
So first of all my key fob stopped working today for some reason, no idea why. Secondly when ever I lock my car and wait in between two minutes through ten minutes, my car alarm starts going off. I checked all the windows, I checked all the doors, and the trunk and the hood, all of them seem locked. I have a factory stock alarm system. The thing I noticed about the alarm is that when I lock my car and look through the window I see that the one of the buttons to defrost my mirrors is flashing red. I have never seen this light turn on like this, my boss told me that it might have been triggered by something trying to enter the car, or something maybe getting wet (because we had a thunderstorm today)... I looked online and I saw someone said to press the PIR button that is located by the driver side door post, which I did that and it did nothing.
I'm thinking about disconnecting the battery for tonight to reset the system, maybe that will do it, maybe not. Any advice? Thanks!

The button on the door pillar disables the internal motion detector, you have to remove the key hit the button and lock the doors within 30 seconds for it to work.
Inspection 1, not important it's a reminder to leave your car and wallet at the dealer.
If your car is a 98.5 you can clear it using the ***** in the cluster. Pre 98.5 you need a VAG.com.
