99.5+ Dash Conversion: Did anyone ever figure out how to re-wire the HVAC?
I am in the process of converting my 99.0 dash to the 99.5+.
The two problems I am having are:
HVAC backlighting
Rear Defrost
I have the fog switches figured out as well as the hazard.
Any insight?

Im working on the HVAC as we speak. I have a fellow who completed this project already...
so it shouldnt be an issue. As Imawesome said....can you tell me more about wiring the foglight and hazard switches?? =)

For the hazard switch you just splice all the wires...
They all color match. You omit the one that does not match.
The fogs I just learned were quite a bit harder due to some type of relay problem.
They only solution I have seen work involves taking apart the new style switches and buying 2 SPST switches wired up to the stock switches to mimic a press. You then place the SPST switches inside the new housings. I have personally not looked into the wiring diagrams so I am not sure if this is the only way.
The HVAC is a lot more simple from what I have read. You just have to splice a 12v+ to another wire. Pre 99.5 only have 1 12v+ whereas the 99.5+ has 2 12v+ switched wires. I am waiting on the exact location which I should receive this evening.
Overall this project is going to be a PITA. But I scored the whole works sans cup holder and switch trim for very little.
