The change in 0-60 time is due to 2 things:
1. The tip is 150 lbs heavier than the manual.
2a. A tip is forced to go through the entire RPM range in 1st gear before hitting the power band at 2500 or so where the turbo kicks in.
2b. In an auto, there is a torque converter, which has additional losses before it gets into fluid lock. However, this occurs only near idle speed, so it has no effect on most of your driving (again, just at a start)
