They do well on the factory 7-spokes that I have, don't touch the rims

Default Betcha don't make it through the winter with those things

I used those type of cables at Tahoe on my Honda and I was warned they wouldn't stay on, and they didn't.

Default Neuspeed K04 kit vs. TAP stage 2

Any thoughts comparing these two options? They seem to cost about the same.

I thought about the Tap option also but, unlike Tap, with Neuspeed you retain the K03 stock turbo, so in case the K04 blows-up or I want to go back to stock config. to sell the car, it's just a three hour job, otherwise Tap is very attractive.

Default Apple vs. Orange?

IMHO:
- you should not use the Neuspeed K04 kit w/o and exhaust, so add ~$600 to the $1480 price tag. That takes you to $2000+.
- The first comparable setup from TAP (Stage 3) cost you ~$3000, and then you still do not get a KKK04, only a reworked KKK03 for more than a KKK04 costs out of the box. I do not know how they would perform against one another, but it does not make me feel good.
- especially, as Stage 3 TAP turbo upgrade is EXCHANGE vs. getting a new turbo.
I believe TAP is good, but they are a hell of a lot more expensive. My choice is a Neuspeed kit with an exhaust.

TAP Stage II does not change the stock turbo at all. Stage 3 is an improved (machined) K03 and stage 4 is a K24.
I've got TAP Stage II so I'm pretty sure about what's in it. Love it, BTW.
Robbie
Default I don't believe low pressure will ever compete with high pressure turbo

I'm a happy owner of TAP Stage 2, but I also drive a high pressure turbo Audi 200 20V Turbo (from the old and best 5 Cyl configuration). There is a significant lag time but when the car is on boost there simply isn't a comparison. I've emailed TAP whose had indicated that as this time there are no plans to make a high pressure unit. The TAP unit is a smooth, lateral acceleration which will run out of breath before too long. I would anticipate the K04 as being a big burst of energy with lots of room to go.
Just my .02.
-Todd
