A4 performance testing with G-Tech.
I just bought a G-Tech and went to test my 98 A4 1.8T. My car has the automatic tiptronic tranny so I expected it to be slower than a manual but I was disappointed by my times:
0-60: between 12.06 and 12.73 sec
1/4-mile: 19.47@74.8
wHP: 90.
The weather was quite warm and humid, we were 2 in the car and the road surface was not ideal but I started wondering if something was wrong with the car.
Anyone has an idea? Are those figures normal for a stock car?

dunno bout Tip times, but for comparison
i ran a 16.3@84 in my 98.5 1.8TQM, stock no mods, last summer. Thats track time, not G-tech. Usually Gtech reads slightly faster than actual- that sounds REALLY slow, esp. for Gtech... I wonder if your gtech is calibrated wrong, mounted poorly, etc.

CHECK YOUR TURBO!! you are not getting any boost, my car ran the same time b4 because.....
the turbo failure caused by wastegate
change the turbo and you will be a very happy man.. you can feel the difference..or better yet chip it..

what exactly was the failure? the wastegate was always open?
did you change your turbo for a new stock one or for a larger one?
I don't think chipping my car now will make any difference since the turbo isn't working.
