A4 squeaking

I get a squaking sound (like turning the wheel in a parking garage sound) when I turn the wheel at slow speeds. It is a 98 A4 avant quattro. Any thoughts?

Sounds like it could be the beginning of the control arm bushing problem. If it is, the squeaking will progress into groaning and creaking sounds. If indeed this is the problem, your friendly Audi service department is very familiar with the noise and the remedy.<p>Good luck!

I just had the drivers side lower control arm replaced for this same noise last week on my 1998 A4 1.8t FWD 5spd. They had the part in stock!! But not my map light!!!<br>Seems like a bad batch of control arms made their way into the cars. Can you say unofficial recall notice!!!<p>
