ABS Light

Hey There, I am new to the site and I had a question, I have a 99' a4 quattro with just about 115k i just recently had a service done and after that my abs light came on, I took it into the dealer where they ran a scan and though the lights on, its not throwing a code, but I can tell the back portion of the abs is not working, anybody have any ideas thanks

Unpossible. If the light is on, there is a code stored.

And that is what I tried to explain to the "Certified Tech" at the flow dealership, no light = no prob, light = prob, so not only do I not have a functional abs, but I got charged for some lame ****, they recommended a abs module, which is bogus sense its $1750 any ideas would be great, perhaps checking the sensors ? the breaks are do for replacing maybe that can be a prob

my abs light is on .. Dealer says $400 to get a new one. Module Master will do it for right around $150 I believe. You'll have to send it in but beats throwin out all that money.

Second, they probably could not connect to the module to get any codes. You need to get someone with VAG-COM to read it. If you feel like rolling the dice send the unit out for rebuild to Module Master or BBA Reman (a good bet). Worn "breaks" do not cause ABS problems, and issues with sensors throw codes.
