Adding an amplifier to your A4
I'm going to be adding an amp, crossover, and sub to my 2001 A4. Has anyone mounted any amps in their A4 yet? Where did you mount them? Got pics? I haven't looked yet if anything will fit down underneath with the spare.

250a2 bridged (pushes about 500w) to 2 mtx 6000 12s.
make sure you stuff some rags in between the bottom part of the rear deck and the top part..it'll stop the rattling. you'll see what i mean once you take a look.

they were pretty easy to mount. I actually cut the grill inserts myself, but
you can always buy the grill inserts from an Audi dealership for like $20.00 that have the holes already in them (from a newer A4).

Nobody has ever added an amp to an A4.

I've got mine mounted upside down, secured to the rear deck. The amp is only 1.5" high, so it's pretty well hidden up there, you have to bend down into the trunk and look up to get a good view.
It's not a hot running amp, and I'm running it well within it's limitations, so heat hasn't proven to be an issue. Some amps, or configs will not allow heat to escape properly, so be careful doing this.
As for the spare tire well, there isn't a lot of room down there due to the full size spare. If you can locate a donut from a junkyard, you might be in business (of course the *real* fanatics will remove the tire altogether and get a can of fix-a-flat).
