alignment
i have installed coilovers and some 18by8 inch wheels and have not yet gotten an alignment but things seem very straight. no camber problems. but do you think i should get one done and would handling get beter or what not. or are they just done for tire wear. thanks in advance'this is the first time i couldnt afford an alignemt but those two parts emptied my wallet fastolla.

Typically a 1"+ drop will require a camber adj, unless you want to wear out your tires fast...
toe-in and track can be less effected by suspension changes, but should still be checked. A $100+ alignment check is a safety net instead of $800 in new tires

the guy at the shop told me that they were way off and he adjusted them to within factory tolorances for camber and toe in...since I'm about to go pick the car up from an alignment, what might I ask?

I just called my audi dealer, they said $200 to get a wheel alignment, including a camber adjustment. I asked them if they re-align the subframe for the camber.. they said no, they drill out the strut bolts to allow for adjustment.
My current camber is:
-2.1 LF / -1.0 RF
-2.4 LR / -1.1 RR
This is after a H&R Race/Bilstein install.
If you do a search, there are adjustable control arm kits out there for something like 500 buckaroos...
