Allignment Questions
1. The shop (Direct Tire Watertown MA) insists that both new tires should go on rear for safety - huh?
2. Front left camber is -1.29, just inside of spec -1.3 to -0.4. Is this good enough? They claimed they adjusted camber as much as possible. Cross camber is within spec.
3. Total rear toe of 0.08 in. is outside of spec 0.10 to 0.43. Can rear toe be adjusted? Is this good enough?
Thanks - Seth
So, is "even" even better? I don't think so. The ideal being all tread the same....modelled ideally as 50%f/50%r. Well, I'd rather have 60f/40r, or even 70/30 if it's winter. Fark, how would I even get moving with 5/32nds of tread in snow. I'd rather be rolling with 7/32f. It's a common sense thing. Weight transfers up front braking and all the steering is done up there. How can LESS grip up front be worse unless the driver is a total spastic idiot like in the vids? Hmm? How could the "old notion" have gotten it dead wrong? I am comfortable sending my woman out with more tread up front. It's a big BS story tire mfg uses to sell more tires. Tire Shops are notoriously bad advisors.
