You should get as much service documentation as possible

The two main killers of 1.8t motors are oil sludge (improper OCI or oil) and failure to replace the timing belt/tensioner.

138k-motor is great everything else sucks..

all the typical audi problems

the motor is the last thing you need to worry about on these cars.

I have 90k, only thing replaced was steering rack, and i messed it up

excluding timing belt ... ya no maintenance stuff

You are lucky then. Coilpacks are a pretty major issue, considering they will leave you stranded

my 99.5 has left me stranded only once, when one of the spark plugs unthreaded itself (probably my fault).
