any problems only upgrading chip?
I just sent my '99 1.8t ECU to Neuspeed for the chip upgrade. I went w/ a less aggressive chip b/c of the kind of driving I plan to do. When doing any chip upgrade, do you HAVE to upgrade anything else to prevent any problems? I realize that changing the exhaust will help, but I want to keep this car as stock as posible. tia

with a chip its not necessary to upgrade the exhaust but it is recommended....what is almost a necessity is upgrading the stock bpv to an aftermarket one such as bailey as the stock one will possibly fail under the higher psi from the chip

What are the typical symptoms of the BPV going bad? Is this something that I should be worried about or just keep in the back of my mind? What is the level of difficulty for the install? I just got the car last week and have the Audi Assured warranty. Will they crucify me for doing this upgrade or be cool about it?

defiently whatever you do, DO NOT , I repeat DO NOT take your car to the dealer with a aftermarket chip , if they find out they will absolutley without a doubt void your warranty.
A NEUSPEED chip I believe only comes soldered onto the ECU
You should have paid a bit more and gotten the better chip --- GIAC which can be socketed and you keep your stock chip to swap in when you take it to the dealer.
