Default APR ECU Failure!

So as many of you know, I just got my ECU back from APR yesterday and installed it. I had been asking questions about performance.

Well today I drove to Mickey D's to grab some lunch. While idling in the drive through lane, my car DIED! I tried restarting the car and the starter would crank, but the engine would not fire.

I immediately called APR. The guy told me that if my check engine light was not coming on when I turned the key to the on position, that my ECU was not communicating with the car. SOOOOOOOO

I had to send my ECU BACK to APR today and I won't get it back until Tuesday. Has this happened to any of you? The guy said in rare circumstances the mod fails blah blah blah. I'm just rather pissed right now!

Default That is the exact reason I have spare ECU and TCU. (more)

My MTM ecu never failed but the bone stock ECU did, I also had the TCU GIAC tip chipped. It was bad upon return. I re-did the solder joints myself. Everything worked fine after i repaired a few bad joint.

Default my original APR chip failed on me

I had it since 2000, died on me at the end of 2005. It was pretty scary...the engine would turn off while driving. Sometimes it would start back up, sometimes it wouldn't. I didn't know it was the ECU for a long time. I finally narrowed it down to the chip and had it replaced. Car has been fine since then.

But yeah, imagine you're going a good 80 on the freeway and then all of a sudden your engine turns off.

First I've heard of it, although nothing's perfect I guess. Neither my GIAC nor APR has failed.

I really hope that the resoldering will fix it...... otherwise, I've got no car.
