Default Audio question..

My car is a 1998.5 Audi A4 1.8T Non-Bose...
I have searched the forums, but I have not find a specific answer to my question.
I want to know what are the sizes of the speakers in my car. I have seen 6.5", 6.75", 4" and 5.25". Also i have searched in crutchfield.com, and when i look for what fit my car, they only give me one measurement, 6.5". When i search in crutchfield including that i have the bose system supposedly, they give two measurements 4" and 6.75". What's the difference??? Does anyone knows?
Thanks

Default 6.5 rear. 4" front. There are people who say you can stuff

5.25 speakers in the front doors with a little coaxing. The rear is much less of a problem.

Default Also, Bose cars have drivers in the rear doors in addition

to the rear deck and front doors. Non-bose cars have drivers in the front doors with tweeters, then full range speakers in the back deck.

Default Most 5.25" speakers will fit in the front door.

It doesn't require all that much work, and if you can locate some MB Quart adaptors, it'll make the job easier. There are a few 5.25" speakers that are too deep for the front doors, but by and large, those are the exception. I would NOT put a 4" speaking in the front door if I was going aftermarket. They are too small to be worth a damn.

Default Huh? For the front I would do a 5.25" component speaker

with crossover, woofer and separate tweeter. You should be able to mount the tweeter in stock location with woofer in the door with crossover.

Are the 6.5" component speakers also?

Default You can put a 6.5" component as long the tweeter can be briged to the woofer...
