Is this bad....

I've been running these 235/40 tires on a ET40 offset rim for @10K miles. It looks like sometimes they rub on the upper rear control arm. It might also be because this is my rim that is slightly bent and out of round.

Ride is fine and the tire looks fine to.

nope but it is going to be. I was told that this space won't change though, between the

tire and upper control arm.

A tire rubbing is never good.

Do this: Cover the rub spot with some shoe polish. Switch the wheels out like you would in a normal tire rotation, so that you have a good wheel on that particular corner. Drive around normally for a day. If the shoe polish is rubbed off, you may have a serious issue developing. If the shoe polish is still there, you need to get the wheel repaired or replaced. Is this the only spot on the whole car where you have rubbing?

I'll try that I believe that is the only place. more...

I looked before and never saw that when the bent rim was on the front. I rotated it to the back and now I saw the rubbing. It is most likely the rim which I'm getting fixed as soon as I find a place to do it and a spare 18" wheel I can put on.
