Default Bentley CD/computer question
has anyone installed the Bentley CD to run the entire thing from the hard drive instead of CD? I was poking around this weekend and the only thing i found was a file c:\win\system32\b5.ini that points to the CD, but changing that didn't help. Any ideas? thanks... josh

parts of it install on the HD, but the majority runs off the CD

Default Yes, copy CD content to C:\B5 (or any drive) and . . .
edit file "\jars\cd.txt" so that it points to the drive where the CD-ROM content is located.

Default You dont even need to edit CD.TXT... but
I think the b5 directory must be on the root of a drive. I.e you cant have c:\mydir\B5 and you only need the B5 dir from the CD

Default You must edit "\jars\cd.txt" . . . I can only be in C:\B5, D:\B5 . . . Z:\B5 . . .
Also it's possible to customize the User Interface and make so that it doesn't SUCK so much, by editing "\jars\Config.ini"

Default I don't know what you did, it works here (-: . . .
I'm not good at remembering trivial stuff, so I make notes when I do installs like that. According to my notes "\jars\cd.txt" points to the source files.
