bleeding srew

I was trying to bleed my engine coolant system but my bleeding striped. I can't remove it move.
Why did those engineers had the bright idea to put an alen screw? Why couldn't they simply put a bolt instead? Them and there smart ideas. Any suggestions from anyone on how I could remove it considering that there is not much space to work in?

Are you trying to drain some coolant?

And are you referring to the screw by the radiator on the driver side?

I don't know of any part of the coolant system (at least on the 1.8) that uses an allen screw for bleeding the coolant.

That's the one!!! There is a pipe that runs under the expansion tank on which the bleeding screw is located. What do you suggest?

I had the same problm on my wife's car.. I never did get that bugger out.

Just get as much air out of the heatercore lines as you can, and keep burping the tank but getting the engine hot and letting it cool with the cap off.

putting coolant thru the top rad hose dont help?

Well you can do a few things...

If you're just trying to get some coolant out, then just use a siphon from the coolant tank itself.

If you're trying to drain all the coolant, just pull the lower radiator hose off.

You can also take off the drain plug under the water pump to get the rest if the engine coolant out.
