The On-Board-Computer...
My A4 is a 2000 model. For a long time, I had the sign that says, "Service" pop-up on my on-board-computer screen located between the tacho and the speedo, as you all know. I don't go to the dealer for my regular services and check ups; I go to a private place in my area cause they tend not to rip me off (haha ;] ). Anyways, I just want to know if there's a way to make that sign go away. Also, as many other audi owners experienced, my on-board-computer is kinda messed up. It tells me to check my brakes, so I did and there's nothing wrong with it; however, the sign's still there. Should I replace the OBC or get my brakes checked up by an Audi dealer? The screen's also fading away, which seems to be a common problem. The dealer said it would cost me around 600~700 bucks, labor not included. Is it worth it? I need some help. Thanks.

I think you can do it cheaper... check the tech articles and use the vag locator to find someone...
