I am wondering how many HP I can expect from putting on a Borla exhaust on my 1998 1.8T. It already has a neuspeed chip. The AWE website says it adds 15hp does that sound about right? How turbo noise, does that increase also? I love that spool up sound.

from what i've read, you can expect probably anywhere from 5hp-15hp increase.
i think the 15hp claim is a little on the high side, and i think that would be with a chip pushing more boost than a neuspeed chip.
you'll get a deeper/louder exhaust sound, but i wouldn't expect the turbo spool to be any louder.

On mine (APR chip), very small hp increase...
10 hp might be generous but that's on a butt-dyno only. turbo whine is also ever so slightly increased. overall exhaust sound however is noticably different, and I do like mine quite a bit. not too loud but a growly-er pitch.
