BPV problem?

BPV problem?
In hot weather, usually during the first acceleration, I am getting what sounds like a release of air or something. Sort of a pssssst sound, maybe a little squeak. Usually it happens right around 3k rpm, about where the turbo kicks in. If I go easy on acceleration (shift before the turbo kicks in) for the first 10 or so minutes, I don't seem to get the noise.
Does this sound like a problem with my BPV or maybe a vacuum line associated with it? If so, what is the best recommended fix? My car does not have any mods, only a K&N drop in air filter.

Well first sugestion is to ditch the K&N and get an OEM paper filter so
you are sucking so much dirt into your car and avoid the risk of killing your MAF. Second are you on the original BPV and if so how many miles on the car. I'd upgrade to the 710N and stark looking under the hood for any vac lines that might be torn, especially the infamous L hose. Also find someone with a Vag-Com that can scan the car and see if there are any stored codes.

I did not know that about the K&N, I've had mine in for 30K miles now. No problems (that I know of yet) with the MAF.
