Brake problems

My dad owns a 99 A4 1.8Tqm and when he slightly puts on the brakes it makes a grinding sound. Does anyone know where the sound could come from?

Check the inner and outer brake pads at each corner.

If your dad's car has brake pad wear sensors, those sensors are only located on the front inner pads. So you'll still have to check for a worn pad, even if the wear sensor dummy light hasn't gone off.

youre supposed to replace pads when

you see grooves in the rotor right?

thats the f3d maintenance plan.....

fix it when its broken and the pieces around it are too... altho i think that changed with the TBfailure revision to my service plan.

should you see smoke when you replace the pads? and diminished brake ability?

or is that only streakin' ?

old valves are how you make...... Inst-A-Shank

Just chop off the end and sharpen em up for the low profile shank... or if you prefer the traditional thumb grip... keep the bent end for more comfortable use!

short enough not to be lethal!
Long enough to be extremely painful!
Some prefer to let theirs get rusty and add the tetnis touch to their shankings!

Anyway you do it... nothing says I'd like to kill you but dont want the added sentence years, like a shanking!

yes I do have a shank made of a 1.8T valve.
