Default Re: Brake Question...

Braided lines won't expand under extreme braking pressure so your pedal feel harder. And of course they are less prone to rupture like the stock rubber lines. Since the rubber lines last so long the stainless seem kind of extravagant/

Default Steel braided brake lines

They don't expand...better pedal feel, more feedback. The downside is that if things aren't perfect, and the steel becomes frayed, it will rub against the teflon(usually) lines inside and slice them. There's tons of information on steel brake lines on the net, but I'm afraid it's been a while since I researched them and I don't recall sources, have you checked the archives? Oh yeah, you'll probably want to go to ATE or a simmilar synthetic brake fluid to prevent boiling due to the increase in pressure you'll be putting on them.<p>Regards,<br>Rodney<p>'99 A4 1.8tqms
