Broken Coil Spring

So the past few weeks I have been hearing the rumbling/creaking in the rear over bumps and potholes. Last week I replaced my rear sway bar links, and the rumbling over bumps decreased greatly.

BUT... I still had an annoying creaking sound coming from the rear drivers' side over driveways lips/speed bump/etc. I removed the rear drivers' side wheel today and noticed an inch and a half wear mark on my shock. Under closer examination, there was a crack in the base of the coil spring (see pictures)... causing the creaking.

As you can see in the pictures, the coil over was completely broken and separated.

Thoughts on labor/parts pricing?

Is anyone looking to get rid of used (stock) rear coil overs for a 1997 A4 2.8Q (non-sport)?

had that happen on my 96, took me a while to figure out as well

had about an inch broken off the bottom of each rear spring. i lucked out with a local dismantler and bought the whole tower then replaced them that way. was quicker than taking all apart and replacing the spring itself
