Buyer beware of a Mr. Jonathan Davis at Bavarian Motorsports attempting to sell an '01 S4 with VIN #WAURD68DX1A063251!! Found this auction on ebay, and just went through a bit of a nightmare based on my desire for a clean S4.

Seller has zero maintenance records, and will not respond to any inquiries until the last couple hours of a sale. He claims the vehicle went through VA state inspection and passed, but cannot, or will not provide any proof of inspection. Also claimed in listing CD changer was included, but very clearly not from pictures. Very clean interior/exterior, so it is very enticing, and again, poor sucker that I am for a clean S4, he coerced me to give him a $300 deposit over the phone and was pushing me to do the deal off ebay. After a bunch of argumentative conversations around getting necessary info like proof of inspection out of him, I backed out on the deal, and he will of course not refund my deposit. This guy is a brash, unprofessional **** of a sales guy, so buyer beware!!

Looks clean. Did you Carfax it? You should have posted before backing out and maybe someone here who lives in Richmond could have checked it out for you to see if it was really clean and straight.

 

Link dead now, eBay says lister pulled it because the car is gone.

You might threaten to contact the VA Dept of commerce. If that doesn't get your money back, do it.

 

Va. State attorneys office & paypal if that is how you made the deposit, it looks like the tard pulled the ad after he got a little cashola...dont worry donkey wipe will re-list for another $300 gain.

 

yeah came w/carfax-title showed 3 owners, no accidents, but I almost refuse to believe a car that originated in Rochester, NY and lived in Upstate NY and PA for it's whole life was really all original. Dare I say, the thing was almost TOO clean...hence my suspicion and desire for some proof of inspection since there are zero records on it...


Wish I had thought of that actually! Though I've been on the forums for years, I don't really have anyone I'm tight with here that I would be able to pull that kind of favor from...All good really-got approved for a $20k loan so it's lookin' like I might be stepping things up to a '04 or '05 B6 S4! B)

 

I too had an experience with Jonathan Davis....he is a liar...plain and simple. I sent a $500 deposit via paypal and then he sold the vehicle to someone else...then when I called to arrange shipping he makes up some story about his partner selling it to someone else "by mistake"....by now he's had my money for 5 days and hasn't bothered to contact me and tell me the vehicle was sold again. I asked when I could expect my deposit back and he said 20 mins. 4 hrs later I have no money so I call again and he says he's on the road but will send from the motel..the next morning, still no refund. I call again and he said the motel had no internet, and the paypal app on his iphone wouldn't work...but he said for me not to worry, I would get my deposit...as soon as he got back to his house, about 3 hours. I text that night and he says he's driving, and I told him paypal was open all night and I wanted my deposit. The next morning, no deposit. Now keep in mind that he had my deposit in his account within ten mins after we agreed on the deal. He's had it for over a week now. I sent him a text and said if I didn't have my deposit back by noon I was going to take it to the next level. Noon comes and no deposit. I call ebay and talk to a nice lady there, and then call paypal and a nice gentleman there got Mr. Davis on the line and Jonathan told him the same story about bad internet, iphone, etc....I told paypal that Mr. Davis is a habitual liar (and a used car dealer). He said hold on a second and he would transfer my deposit back...and he did. I have text records to back up all of this. Jonathan Davis is a liar, and I am not. So I would advise anyone to stay away from him.
