Buzzing Console

I have a 98 1.8T with a something buzzing in the radio console. It becomes apparent at the cabin vibration levels present at take off (from standstill), just after full engagement of the clutch. It can also be reproduced by pounding lightly on the side of the console.<p>I have already had the dealer look at it, but they aren't quite patient enough do a thorough insulation job. This is something only the car owner (me) cares enough to get right!<p>Question: How do you get the black front panel of the console off with breaking anything? Is there a better way to get at the innards so I can do appropriate foam rubbering/tie wrapping, etc.?

Mine too, 98.5 2.8qm. It would be an understatement to say that I have been very disappointed with the number of rattles my car has had as well as the dealer service (attempting) to fix them. I expect far better for $33k.
