buzzing from speaker
Any thoughts?? Also, to get at these speakers, do you just pry off the covers with a flathead screwdriver?
Would a new speaker be covered under the Audi assured extended warranty (5 yrs, 120,000 km)??

If you have two stereo systems playing the same material at the same volume (i.e. sound pressure level, SPL), one with 5 percent total harmonic distortion (THD) and the other with 0.05 percent THD, the average listener will generally perceive the more distorted system as substantially louder, despite the fact that they are actually at the same volume (SPL).
For clearly reproduced sound (minimal distortion) on a quality audio system (up to the threshold of pain/overload at least), most people will not really appreciate quite how loud the volume really is until they hear someone try to talk over it. It's a weird effect, but next time you are near a truly high end audio store, give it a try. (What is high end? Look for names like Mark Levinson, Krell, Meridian, AR (Acoustic Research), Linn, B&W, Snell, Thiel, Martin-Logan, to name just a few.)
When it comes to audio reproduction, achieving high volumes (SPLs) is far easier than achieving high volumes with no appreciable distortion and accurate reproduction.
