Calipers

I'm sick of looking at my dirty calipers that looks like two slates of rough steel. I was thinking of painting them black just so they'de look a little better(wish I had money for nice ones). I hear that painting you calipers traps the heat in, and can damage them and your rotors. Is this true? Or do I have nothing to worry about

Mine are painted, and followed the instructions closely from the paint kit. No probs after 10k miles

whom ever told you that is wrong. If this was the case would

Porsche, Brembo, Stoptech etc paint their calipers? I have painted mine and so have many others on the board go for it.

Paint em.

Never heard of any heat-trapping, and it definitely looks better. Take your time and pull the calipers off to do it right.

thanks, can I just go to autozone and get the 1200 temperature paint, or get the caliper paint kits?

which calipers are those?

or are they just the stock ones and you pained the backs of the pad as well?

I got my kit from Tirerack. They sell the G2 kit and I got 5 coats

on each caliper and probably could have put more on but I started to get sick of painting so I stopped.
