They can be coded so that they lock when you hit a certain speed..
I thought the speed was about 15
but it seems to engage lower then that..
I don't know if a dealer will do it for free..
But if you find somebody with a VAG tool, they can do it.

I had mine done, here is the info
I had mine done and it does the following things:
1) Locks all doors and trunk after going 15 mph
2) When unlocking doors with remote, one button push unlocks everything, unlike 2 from the dealer.
3) If you hold down the unlock button, you can open all the windows and sunroof, good for warm weather cooling fast.
4) Also closes all the windows, and sunroof, when holding down the lock button, if any open.
5) When locking horn beeps, or is that normal I forget.
Anyway, the dealer has to do it, and it shouldn't cost a thing, it didn't for me. They will be reluctant to do it, but if you have a good relationship with a dealer, it should be no problem.
Its in the Tech section at AudiWorld. Just spent several minutes trying to locate in there and couldn't. But, got my original invoice out and it states "central locking control unit, 16,232." This is for an A4 2.8Q, it is different for different models.

Dealer did it. Gave him that code and they took care of it. To be honest I NEVER use that part of the reconfiguration, NEVER. The nicest, and only things I use are:
1) automatic locks at 15 mph
2) one press unlocks everything. nice when other people are getting in the car, b/c I always forgot to hit it twice, just a little annoying thing.
