Default Car Problems-long

Hi, could anyone out there help me with my car. It's a 99.5 A4, manual and has a Neuspeed chip. The problem I had started with a check engine light, I had the codes ran and showed up as 1136 and 1426. A couple of days later my battery died so I jump started it but my car would die right away. After a couple of tries and reving the engine it would start but would idle rough. So I tried driving the car but it wouldn't go anywhere unless I drop the clutch over 3000 rpm, every time I shift the RPM's would drop and the car would lag and wouldn't even go anywhere. I eventually found a broken hose on my intake manifold which ended up being from the bypass valve. That fixed the idling problem but the car still won't move if the RPM's are below 2000. Any ideas to whats wrong. I've heard that my ECU may need to be recalibrating but I tried unplugging it and starting it up after, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Default Well...

P1426 EGI Mini - MAF Failed Out Of Range
P1136 Fan Control Circuit Malfunction

That's what your codes mean. You may have a bad MAF, which is somewhat common.

When you say "recalibrate" your ECU, do you mean perform a throttle body adaptation? If so, put your key in the ignition, and turn everything on, but do not start the engine. Wait 30 seconds. Start your car.

It's probably a good idea to have somebody check the codes with a VAG-COM. The codes that you pulled are generic OBDII codes, and the VAG COM will give you more Audi specific answers.<ul><li><a href="http://www.steve-hall.com/cgi-bin/VAG-Locator.pl">VAG locator</a></li></ul>

My car will drive, just as long as its over 2000RPM then it'll go. So basically its not the speed its the RPMs that are causing the car to lag.

By recalibrating I meant that I dissconneted the ECU, then turned the ignition on for a minute, and then I stated it. By turning everything on u meant turn the key to the second click right? As for the MAF, is there any way to check if its gone bad. Could this cause the problems on my car? Finally what does the Fan Control Circuit have to do with. Thanks

Default After further review:

The codes I gave you were incorrect. Here are the correct codes taken from my bentley manual:

P1136 Long Term Fuel Trim Add. Fuel, Bank1 System too Lean
P1426 Tank Ventilation Valve Open

P1136 explains the leak in your vacuum hose to the intake manifold.

P1426 Bentley recommends running output diagnostic test mode function 03 to test the fuel injectors.

Sorry for the confusion earlier. Hope that makes more sense.

Thanks. I guess there isn't much I can do anyways so I'll probably take it into a shop.

After re-reading your original post, you said that the bad vacuum hose was to the BPV? Is it this one:

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/45754/engine_boost_gauge.jpg">

If so, that should not cause you to run lean. If it is the hose on the other side of the intake manifold to the FPR, then you would run lean.

You may have some type of fuel delivery problem, but now I'm just speculating.
