CD Changer
I just bought an Audi A4 yesterday. I love it. I am 6'4 and looked for a car I have this much room in. Not a complaint, but no CD player. The dealer wanted something like $800.00 for the changer, does anyone know exactly what make/model will be compatible with the factory head unit. I know it must be a 6 disc. You can get the CD changer for much cheaper than $800!
Get the CD changer from Clair Parts (go to Product Guide) for $270. Autotoys sells the same unit for $230, but quite a few people posted a few weeks ago that their customer service sucks, but I've never dealt with them so I wouldn't know first hand.<p>BTW, the changer is a Panasonic CP-DX601 ... I think.<p>Mark

Need adaptor too!
If you order from Clair it should come with the adaptor cable. If you order it anywhere else you'll need to get a cable from Peripheral Electronics Inc. (PIE). The part # is PERAUDPAN98 and will work with '98 and later A4s. Most car stereo shops will either carry the part or at least have the PIE catalog to order from. Only problem I see is that the Random function with the Concert Deck will not work unless you buy the OEM Changer. I'm willing to give up random and save a couple hundred!
