CD Changer problem
Please help. All of a sudden on my 99.5 A4, my Bose concert stereo won't play my CD's. The CD changer is one of those OEM parts the dealer installs. My Bose doesn't display "SAFE" and the it plays cassettes and the radio. And the CD changer seems to be working b/c I can eject the caddie and when I reinsert it, I can hear the CD being loaded. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks for your help.

Yes - they are in the 6 disc caddie thingy. Maybe the stereo (more).....
doesn't "know" that there is a disc changer in the trunk. B/C when I try to change the mode by pressing the dash key, it doesn't switch to the CD player at all (just cassette). Also, if something was wrong with the cd's it should give an error message on the display but it doesn't even do that. Thanks for your help.

I might have had the same problem...
I installed an OEM 6 CD Changer and it worked swell for about 6 months and out of the blue it stopped working one day. It just kinda froze. I could flip Modes over to Tuner/Tape no problem but when I tried to get to the CD it would initially just "freeze" and never load a CD or display "No CD". All I did was went back to the CD player in the back and found the cable coming out of the back. Follow it a little bit out of the back of the CD player (all out of sight. Just use your hand...I removed the lining a little but I don't think that was necessary in retrospect) and eventually you'll run into a plug which plugs into another cable which is how the CD player connects up to your stereo. Just undo the plug (it kinda twists and pulls apart if i remember correctly) and then put it back together. This fixed my problem...I think it's only when you do that that all power is cut from the CD player and it's able to completely reset.
I did this a couple months ago and haven't had the problem since.
