CEL help
just had my timing belt/h20 pump/ tensioner/ cam seals.......all done and they went back and fixed a folded seal.....now i have a cel and it is always on, any ideas what to check.....not familiar with how they work on this car, but my old truck if the light came on, and it was just like a misfire or something the light would go off next time you started the car....or anyone in the westmichigan area have a VAG that can help me out??? TIA

do you detect any symptoms that might've caused the CEL?

check your hoses, particularly the vacuum line
my CEL had been on for awhile with no noticable signs of trouble and no power loss. turns out my torn vac line was making me run lean, causing the CEL. an easy fix and now no CEL. but yeah, you'd have to VAG it to be sure. don't put it off, CELs should be taken care of asap.

now it gets strange
i was planning on checking my hybrid bov for leaks and air filter for being clean tonight, just went to the car....and the cel is now off???? do they just stay on for a while, or is it possible i had a loose connection and now shouldn't need to worry as much?
