Check Engine Light On! Help Please

Hi everyone, so i drove to NY to pick up my sister, going back to my home, i noticed that the check engine light was on, so i went to auto zone to get the code read, and they told the light was on because of the the code PO422, and the guy there told to get a new catalytic. What should i do, get the catalytic, or there is any thing i can do to fix the old catalytic?

What does the code mean (I'm happy to answer questions, but I'm far too lazy to Google stuff that you can)?
What engine is in your car?
What other testing has been done?

I have a 1.8t cat for sale in the classifieds.

The codes PO422 means that the catalytic is bad or my car needs new o2 sensors.

So the code is for catalyst efficiency?

Any rattling from the cats? Have tried swapping O2 sensors side to side?

Main Catalyst,Bank1 Below Threshold

P0422 is bank 1, so only the post cat oxygen sensor on the passenger side or the converter .

The CAT sounds normal (i think), and didn't try to swap the oxygen sensor. because i don't have power since Saturday, i blame Irene
sorry for the late response.
