Chip info request
I am considering the APR chip for my Year 2000 1.8 5 speed. Has anyone had experience with the APR chip? Reliability?, Driveability?, Cost?, Problems? Performance? Turbo Lag? Starting characteristics? Idle characteristics? Anything else? Would you buy from them again? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks. AMF

I'd say 80% of us are chipped, and it's 50/50 between APR/GIAC
with a few stragglers here and there... Everyone seems to agree that both are excellent chips, I would definately buy from APR again if I had the money for SIII....

Nice people there. Had a pinging problem.. They said it was vehicle specific... Took awhile but they sent the ECU back with thier chip and 3 programs installed. No charge for the programs. I thought that was damn nice of them. Thanks APR

apr offers a path up to their stage3+ package giving approx 310hp and gobs of torque.
giac offers a ko4 turbo path. i think it ends there giving approx 240hp.
if the apr stage3/3+ makes you drool and you think you might end there one day .. apr would probably be the better route to take. if k04 is enough .. then go giac.
cant go wrong with either one of 'em. just depends on where you wanna end up. =)
i'm going stage3/3+ eventually .. apr for me.
