Default chip tuning

i was thinking of getting a TAP 1.0 bar put in my A4 1.8T qms, and I heard somewhere that chipping a car wears the car down faster...i only heard this from one person, so can anyone give me any advice before I make any mistakes?

Default the stage 1 chip should not wear down your car...

it is only a moderate pressure increase on the turbo.
The engine is over engineered for what is delivered.

Get the TAP I love mine

Default Chipping WILL increase wear on the engine and turbo

As well as clutch if you do lots of hard launches with the extra power. The big question is how much it will reduce engine life, and from what starting point. We don't know yet, but I too feel the engine is overengineered and that even chipped it will last much longer than I plan to own the car (6-8 years). However this is my opinion and I could be in for an unpleasant surprise after 100,000 miles. By the way, the TAP chip is a .8 bar chip if memory serves (unless there's a new one out), which should be less stressfull, at least on the turbo.<p>Regards,
Rodney
