yeah I just saw their site tonight. I'm not just looking for cheap though, I want a quality product that is not going to mess with my car in an adverse way.

Well.....
cheap doesn't necessarily mean lower quality. I've had Greedspeed chips for the last 18,000 miles, and I am VERY pleased. There are MANY other Audiworlders with P-chips and VBL chips. It is a high quality product.

Hey I wasn't trying to bust your chip dude I was just saying I want the most bang for my buck. how long did it take for you to get your ecm back? what is the diff btwn a p chip and a vbl chip?

I drove to Greedspeed to get chipped both times..
the first time I got the 0.8 bar P-chip. The second time I got the 1.0 bar VBL chip with a 5.0 bar FPR. THe difference between the two chips is that the P-chip puts out a max of 0.8 psi of boost. The VBL puts out 0.8 psi until it hits 3500 RPM, then it put out 1.0 bar of boost. Then after 5500 RPMs, it lowers boost to 0.8 bar. This is supposedly easier on the engine and turbo than having 1.0 bar of boost all the time. I was just at Greedspeed two weeks ago. My friend Greg, who had a GIAC chip, decided to switch to a Greedspeed chip and sell his GIAC chipped ECU because the chips felt really similar and he could use the difference in $$$ to buy some other stuff. He tagged along that day and got his chip also. Anyways... $400 get you from 150 hp to ~200 hp with the GIAC or APR chips. $170 gets you about the same hp from the Greedspeed chip. The pure 1.0 bar chips offer a bit more torque. In the end though, the performance of the chips are really similar. Driver skill can EASILY make up the difference.
