Clear corner question:
I'm wondering about DIY clear corners on a 2001 1.8T. I've read the tech articles about doing and am about to get started...I just want some reassurance that I have the right directions because there are a couple different versions of directions...one mentions that there is no drilling involved...but that looks like it's for the older (pre-95) models...and one mentions drilling away the tabs. The reflector that you're supposed to clip and remove looks pretty thick though...is it that delicate? Also what is behind the reflector that is gonna show after it is removed? Is there gonna be just a black hole or is it more of the reflective mirrors?

there is black plastic that will show
you have to drill two holes to eat away the reflector tabe, once you do that you have to wiggle the reflector out with some pliers , be careful I scratched the inside of the lense.

check my sig pic... that's what DIY CC looks like. i don't have any up-close pictures and am sorta glad i don't cuz i wasn't too careful when i did it. the orange reflector scratched up the inside a bit when i was trying to cut it (it's not as flimsy as people say it is!) and the holes that i drilled are noticable really close up. well i tend to think that if i don't look at it, it doesn't exist... so i don't look at it. from a few feet away and further it definitely looks real good and i would recommend this mod even if you screw up as much as i did. but anyways i was already considering ecodes/HIDs so i can live with my mistakes.
