Climate control problem

Greetings!
I've lurked on this forum since the days of A4.org (I bought a '96A4 in Dec '95). And, I've found a lot of great info from the postings here and I'm hoping to get a bit of help on a new problem on my A4.

My climate control started acting up (intermittent) -- it would get stuck and blow hot even though I have the setting on AC. Searching the archives, I found the way to access the DTC and found that my controller is showing a trouble code of 8.7 "Temp regulator flap, sporadic block." This corresponds well with the symptoms.

What do i do next? Is this regulator flap easily accessible? Anything else I should look for?

unless AID is some sort of acronym I've never seen...

I took that statement to mean "<sarcasm>look at everyone help this guy out!</sarcasm>"

his aid is his user account number

yours is 66860. mine is i think 18972. bnam's is 160. that means he was the 160th person to join audiworld and you were the 66,860th person

It may be just as simple as it needs to be cleaned and lubed..

the problem is, you can't really access any of it without taking the dash apart..
