Climate Control problem

Has any one had a similiar problem. My 96 A4 2.6 has for sometime had faults with the climate control, lights flickering etc. For some time air would only come out via the front screen vents, regardless of what buttons pressed on the control unit. At long last the air supply started coming out of the front (passenger and driver) vents. Great I thought, however when I now select the screen demist the air no longer goes to the screen. I have used the on board diagnostics codes, which gives me an error code of 11.5 Motor is cycled, software attemts to eliminate block! Can some one please tell me what this really means and how I might remedy the problem.
