CMP Sensor Replacement
Quick question. My check engine light comes on after re-starting the car while it's hot. The code says it's a bad sonsor. If the sensor is bad will the cars still run and run fine because it does.

It can seem like it is running fine, but obviously you need a new part. =-)
I've had sensors go bad and the car seems fine. The coolant temp sensor is a good example, car seems to run fine but CEL was still on. I switched out the sensor and the car seems the same but gets better MPG.
