Common Problem List?
*Mirror heater failure (replaced under warranty)
*Front lower control arm bushings (replaced, barely out of warranty, AofA covered it)
* driver's seat slightly moves, sometimes (nothing done about it)
In addition, I've had the following issues:
* wiper blades really lousy (several sets under warranty)
* outside temp occasionally reports -63deg at startup (technician "failed to duplicate")
* prop struts for hatch rusting at mountings (replaced under warranty)
* right end panel of dashboard squeaks (lubed once, then replaced)
* rear washer clogged (unclogged under warranty)
* latch flag for rear seat broke (replaced under warranty)
* stopper button for rear seat belt broke (belt replaced under warranty)
* coolant temp sensor failed (replaced after warranty, $200)
* black plastic trim at bottom of doors falling off due to rusting of backing clips (out of warranty, 4 doors for around $200)
It would be great if there was a Tech article listing all the common problems. I'm contemplating trading the car, and I wonder what other issues I can look forward to in the next 30k miles.
td
- Rear wheel bearings
- Have trip computer system? Display slowly dying (one replaced under warranty, this one now going)
Rear washer clogged only when I first received the car; apparently it's the stuff they initially install at the factory to protect the system during shipment.
Front A-arm bushings were squeaking last year, but so far are quiet this year. Will see what happens when weather gets warmer.
What - no wheels getting black from dust from OE brake pads? Happenerd to me just driving around the block after a car wash!
Driver's seat movement is due to a loose bolt? Have to look at this; dealer said "they all do that!"
Wiper blades I change myself with Lexor inserts. In winter, switch to Audi winter blades.
No wet braking delay - nail the brakes in heavy rain and get no brakitn action for a second or more? B*tched to dealer every time I've brought it in; they can't fix it. Out of warranty went to slotted rotors and Pagid pads; really helped but still there to a degree. NEVER had this on old Coupe Quattro.
